And finally, my hottest pick for this year’s 69 Bachelors- Model and Hairstylist Samir Ayeb!

Cosmo Centerfold 2012: Paulo Avelino

Paulo Avelino leads the Cosmo Centerfolds and 69 Bachelors of Cosmo Men 2012.

I once told my friends that Paulo will be this year’s Top Cosmo Bachelors and my prediction was right.
Well, after joining the Kapamilya network, being included in one of the network’s highest-rated show, and appearing on various sexy billboard for Bench, there’s no reason for him not to top the list.

I had a chance to work with Paulo Avelino during the 10th year Anniversary Party of Mossimo Philippines. I approached him and we started having a quick-talk. At the backstage, I remember him taking a photo of us with his camera. And i also have a snapshot of us.

I am really happy that Paulo made it to the Top! He’s a very humble and hardworking guy. He’s also a good actor and he has proven his worth in the entertainment industry. I will forever support Paulo because that’s the only way i can thank him for the kindness and his genuine smile.

Cosmo Centerfolds 2012

It’s September and there’s a reason to celebrate- Cosmo Month again!

Finally, the 10 Hottest Cosmo Centerfolds have been revealed together with 69 sizzling Bachelors from this side of the planet.

Since I am an Event Director, I had a chance to work with some of them or has been introduced to a few. So let’s name some of those Bachelors first.

 

My friend-Lucky Conde. He’s is from Batangas and once hosted a regional tv show under ABS-CBN. He’s one of our models during the Converse Block Party. I think Lucky is probably of the nicest model around.

 

Son of GMA-7 Executive Reggie Magno. Pancho is one of the Kapuso Network’s talents and has appeared in various TV series. He will also walk the runway of Bench Universe this coming September.
Pancho was one of our Red Angels during an event/flash mob for a chocolate brand, together with Bryan Benedict of Protege.

 

The Prodigal Twins of San Beda.
These two handsome guys used to play for San Beda Red Lions. During the championship game of NCAA, the Semerads caught the attention of the country after leading the Red Lions all the way to Championship. A few months later, they dropped the big bomb- David and Anthony Semerad decided to try-out for the Blue Eagles.

I am from San Beda and met them several times. We had a chance to talk and they were really nice.

 

We do interact a lot on Twitter. He started following me (I followed him first) after I helped him with something. He’s also one of my Mom’s favorite actor. Jome is a humble guy and very friendly. Follow him on Twitter too! here

 

We don’t know each other personally but we are Facebook friends and we once had a conversation via chat. Though, we’ve been on several events together, we never had a chance to talk personally.

Missing Zayn Malik

Oh my! the Twitter world erupted with words of sadness after Zayn Malik, 1/5 of One Direction, decided to deactivate his Twitter account. His nearly 5 Million followers (including me!) was shocked to find his account inactive. According to his last few tweets, the cutest member of One Direction blames hate for his decision to stop communicating via Twitter.

So for now, i just want to share this image i created and shared to some of his fans worldwide.

It’s More Fun In The Philippines: Review

The Department of Tourism recently unveiled it’s new promotional campaign to boost tourism in the country:

I know it’s quite early but i do have high hopes for the new campaign, and i am positive that it will draw attention from travelers all over the world. The logo is very current with its choice of font, the color is vibrant and festive, and the map of the Philippines surrounded by colored blocks is unique and can be likened to the pattern of the Igorots.

The image can even send a lot of messages such as Philippines being an archipelago of colors, or Philippines being a melting pot of culture and beliefs.

And i am also enthralled by the first set of images to support the new tourism battle cry.

This one captivates the campaign. It’s about the Philippines making regular activities more fun.

This second one is visually appealing, but i’m not so sure with the connection of the copy and the image. The message it’s trying to convey isn’t so clear.

And for the third one, i’m not so sure if the word “Commuting” should be used. The word is not so basic in the sense that Americans and British would say “I’ll take a cab or a bus” instead of “I’ll commute”.

The best advertisements are the one that can be easily processed and absorbed. Simple words that are appealing and widely understood should be used since it’s a global campaign.

I am pretty sure that the team behind it will come up with better materials that sends the message directly and easily.

With regards to the website, i think the URL is quite long. But the over-all look of the site is a lot better compare to the website of the Department of Tourism. I’m just wondering if they are also planning to redesign the DOT website for it to be in synergy with the current campaign. They should!

And also, I’ve read somewhere about the similarity of the slogan to that of Switzerland’s previous tourism campaign.

I personally believe that having same slogan/copy is inevitable. And having a similar one with Switzerland should not be a big issue since their Ad was crafted a few years already and wasn’t being used anymore. The only similar thing is the copy but the big idea itself is different. Think of a revival, or a song with a similar title. The title may be the same but the beat, the message of the song, and the target listener can be different.

So again, I am happy with the new Tourism Campaign and hopefully the team behind it will come up with better materials to send the message.

The 2011 NCAA season is about to end and my Alma Mater’s very own San Beda Red Lions is again on top of their game.

As a way to honor our brave basketball team (and my School too!), i decided to do a design that spells School Spirit.

I can still remember the time when i first heard the news about the fall of the World Trade Center in New York. It was morning and I am heading to school when the news broke out. I know that I am hundreds of miles away from the Twin Tower yet i can still feel the gloomy day brought by that series of attacks. It’s as if liberty and peace is on the verge of dying.

On that very day, i realized that the world is indeed small and that we are all connected one way or another. I may not be an American yet i can feel the sorrow and pain that they are going through by that very moment. I can smell the tears and fears, and see the lives of people, slowly fading and joining the ashes of the fallen towers.

The September 11 attack is one of the most horrifying event that ever happened to America and the world. It was the time when trust and peace had been questioned. The moment when we felt the terror and yet still have the urge to fight back.

That very day may have brought tears to everyone, but it also strengthen our faith to the Creator and allowed us to embrace peace even more.

Today, in memory of 9/11, i would like to share some moving photos that will remind us not of terror, but of hope.
