Cosmo Bachelor Bash 2012: Cosmo Men Unite

First of all, I would like to send my love to Summit Media and my friend, Allan, for giving me VIP access to the event.

I’ve been watching Cosmo Bachelor Bash since 2007, and I never missed a single show since then. And last night was probably the biggest turnout of attendees. The VIP area was jam-packed and the regular area was extremely crowded. When we get there, all seats were already occupied so we had to find the best place to stand. We were really lucky because our spot was right beside the runway allowing us to see every bachelors up-close.

Since I am also an Event Director, I can’t help but comment on some things. First, I love the multi-level stage that was utilized all throughout the event. I also love the runway and its side extensions. Some segments were great, while some needs more rehearsal time and proper execution. Lighting was good too!

I would like to share some of the  photos (taken by me) from the event.

London Olympics 2012 Hottest Hunks

I definitely love the Olympics.

Every 4 years, we get to witness the best Athletes from all over the world compete against one another. Men and women of sports showcase their massive skills and do enormous feats to get the nod of the world and take home the  prestigious Gold.

Well i must admit, aside from the stunts and heart-pounding games, i also enjoy checking out some Olympic Hotties and Hunks. For me, they are more admirable and attention-worthy compare to some Hollywood and Billboard stars because they are normal just like everyone else, except that they are extremely dedicated to their sports and most of them have inspiring stories to tell.

So here are 5 of my picks for London Olympics 2012 Hottest Hunks.

1. Marcel Nguyen: Vietnamese-German Gymnast, 25 years old.

Hong Kong: For First Time Travelers

December 2011

I was in Hong Kong last December 6-10 and it was my first time to visit HK. It was also my first time to travel alone. I’ve been to Singapore and Thailand before but with my classmates back in College, so my Hong Kong trip was really different and even more exciting.

Weeks before my flight, I started filling my itinerary with names of shops, museums, and some interesting places to go. I also got some tips from Mom and Dad, who travelled to Hong Kong a few times already, on where to stay and where to dine. Planning ahead really helped me not to miss some exciting places in Hong Kong. Plus, it also helped me maximized my stay.

At the Airport

When our plane landed in Hong Kong, the first thing I did was had my dollar exchanged to the local currency. I ended up having some regrets. I later realized that the conversion inside the airport was pretty low.

Tip 1: Don’t have your dollars exchanged inside the airport. If you really need some Hong Kong dollars, just bring out a small amount to be exchanged.

Tip 2: Grab yourself a Map. It’s for free!

I learned the map thing when I was in Thailand. The HK map was really helpful and easy to use. It even has some markings on where to find the shopping districts and tourist attractions.

After getting my map, I bought myself an Octopus Card. It’s a card that you can use for MTR, trains, and other things. Then I searched for the bus terminus and rode A21, bound for Tsim Sha Tsui.

Tip 3: The Airport Express and Taxis are pricey. I suggest you find your bus code online and take the bus. It even gave me a chance to see some beautiful places in HK.

Day 1: Where to Stay, Eat, and Go

I remember my Mom telling me not to book an expensive hotel because I won’t be staying inside most of the time. I can’t agree more; I only used my room to keep my things, take showers, and sleep.

Since I did not book any room at all, I ended up searching one place to another. I wasn’t looking for a hotel then; I was looking for a guest house.

I finally had a room at a certain guest house in Mirador Mansion. There were also guest houses in Chungking Mansion which is a block away, but I decided to stay in Mirador instead for HKD 300 a night. Mirador is situated right at the center of Tsim Sha Tsui, one of the busiest shopping district in HK.

The room was just simple, clean, air-conditioned, and it looks safe.

Tip 4: I’ve seen a lot of British, Japanese, and American staying in Mirador Mansion guest houses. Find HK guest houses online and book it. You don’t need an expensive hotel to enjoy Hong Kong.

Where to eat? I actually had a problem filling my empty stomach since I don’t eat fish and vegetable. I am not even a fan of Chinese cuisine. I’m glad to find some coffee shops, pastry shops, and fast foods in HK. I even ate at McDonalds and KFC for a few times. There are some products in KFC that can’t be found in the Philippines so I ended up ordering their Flava Crava Chicken (My favorite!) and Chocolate Egg Tart.

But if you are not as complicated as I am, you can try some Chinese Restaurants along the streets of Hong Kong. They serve authentic Chinese cuisines and they are a lot affordable compare to those huge restaurants that serves the same thing.

But if you are really into restaurants, try visiting “The One Mall” along Tsim Sha Tsui, Nathan Road. Aside from being a great shopping mall, the building houses lots of restaurants.

Most notable ones are: Harlan’s, Star of Canton, and Joyous One. And even Happy Lemon and MiO MiKO sweets.

After eating, I walked along Tsim Sha Tsui towards the Hong Kong Museum of Art. I was even lucky enough to find a new friend there. He’s a German guy, travelling along just like me.

Having a new friend with me, we decided to spend the evening at the Avenue of Stars while drinking our expensive cups of Starbucks Coffee.

Tip 5: Make sure to be at the Avenue of Stars before 8:00 PM so you can choose the best place to watch “A Symphony of Lights”. Also, try to find the hand prints of Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

More from Cosmo Centerfold Hunks/Bachelors 2011

As promised, i shall be posting more about the gorgeous men from the 2011 edition of Cosmopolitan Centerfolds.

Yesterday, i already mentioned the names of the 10 hottest Bachelors of the the country for this year and i even posted their Cosmo pictures. Today, i will be posting some of my favorites from the list. They are definitely drool-worthy, and they are here to make your imaginations go wandering!

Tourism and Hospitality Management student from UST- Mauro or Maui Lumba.

John Victor Susim or Jovic Susim of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition. He is from Albay and is a student from the College of St. Benilde. I saw him once in Greenbelt and he kinda reminds me of a young Jordan Herrera.

Jaco Benin is the son of former Side A member Joey Benin. This cute and very talented hottie is 1/4 of ASAP’s A-Pop.

I was surprised to see Vincent Bueno shirtless. Vincent is the winner of Austria’s Musical Die Show and a recording star signed under Star Records. Check his videos on Youtube and you’ll be mesmerized by his enchanting vocals.

The Guy with the “For All Eternity” Tattoo- Carlo Sawit. Aside from being a model, this charming hunk is also a public servant.  With his towering height, flaming abs, mysterious glare, and tattoo right on his perfect chest; Carlo Sawit indeed is worthy of the spotlight.

Sebastian Castro studies at Savannah College of Art and Design and he is from New York. This Artist/Painter is more of a boy-next-door type than a hunk. I mean, he looks so innocent and young.

And my personal favorite- Dexter/Dex Quindoza from Starstruck and Mossimo. I remember telling Jiro about how i adore this guy. I find him really mysterious and interesting, plus he got some really good smile. I love DEX!

So there! some of my favorites from Cosmopolitan Magazine’s 69-and-beyond Bachelor Centerfolds for 2011.

Who is the Cutest? Zayn, Mario, or Tyler?

Recently, there are some good servings of cute boys on the television. That must be the reason why there’s a significant increase in the number of screaming teen girls. In UK, the group One Direction became one of the most popular group in Britain. In Asia, Mario Maurer united the regions through his smile. Even those who cannot understand Thai still watches his movie and confessed that they are fans (including me!). And move over Jacob Black, there’s a new wolf in town and he got a whole bunch of followers. Tyler Posey made a debut to the hearts of American girls via hit TV show- Teen Wolf.

Now, who do you think is the hottest? Let’s check them one by one

Thai Heartthrob- Mario Maurer

1/5 of One Direction- Zayn Malik

Teen Wolf – Tyler Posey

Tell us who you think is the cutest by posting your comments below.. I will count your answers next week and will reveal the winner of our first ever “Who is the Cutest” poll!

Planking, Owling, Horsemaning, Batting, Leisure Dive, and Buoying?!

It’s official! the world is now totally crazy!

Have you heard of these “odd” and a little “crazy” stuff that has been getting the attention of everyone? I assume you’ve heard of Planking, but there are more new stuff to compete with it.

The Famous PLANKING: A lying down activity (lying face down) in an unusual or incongruous location.

I’ve seen a lot of Planking photos but if it has to be incongruous, then someone must plank in a septic tank or a garbage truck. I haven’t seen one yet!

An there’s this animal-inspired OWLING.

Owling is a picture taken of someone crouching like an OWL, and like Planking, in an unusual place. Other Owlers (people who do Owling) also “hoots” while doing Owling. I suggest someone come up with an Owling picture on top of a toilet bowl. That would be nasty!

And there comes HORSEMANING, considered as the next level of planking.

Horsemaning is a picture showing “fake beheading”. It may look gruesome but i find it more creative and artistic than Planking. This photo fad actually started during 1920’s and was revived by a group of people after planking became famous. The name Horsemaning must be a reference from Sleepy Hollows “Headless Horseman”.

BATTING or Doing-The-Bat is a new photo fad that is slowly gaining some followers.

Batting, based from its name, is doing the bat position which is upside down. Legs must be bend, hang on something stable, put your hands on your hips, and shoot! I dunno if the sunglasses are necessary for Batting, but it does add some flair! Suggestion: Batters should also wear capes and fake fangs!

This is actually my favorite- LEISURE DIVE!

Leisure dive is a craze showing people in crazy and wacky poses in mid-air before they hit the water. I love this fad because i find it really funny and original. You have to prepare yourself and come up with the perfect pose before hitting the water and the camera button. It’s not easy unlike Planking, Owling, or Batting.

For Leisure Divers, the best pose would be something that shows relaxation, leisure, and fun. Plus, you can also use props and be creative as you can for your leisure dive photos.

And since everyone is making their own little craze, i decided to come up with mine too! and i would like to call it BUOYING!

Buoying, since every craze claims this, is the fad that will end Planking. The next level of all levels!

How to do it? Just jump a little. Make sure that you are not moving too much, and shoot!

You must look floating on the picture.. that’s it!

Zayn Malik of One Direction

I am pretty sure that only a handful of Filipinos knows One Direction. Just to give a quick info, One Direction is a boy group from UK, they used to compete in the UK X-Factor, and they are being managed by Uncle Simon (Cowell).

These boys are really cute, adorable, and they are all good singers. I have a favorite member and his name is Zayn Malik.

I think Zayn is half- middle eastern. I’m not sure but his cousins (check twitter) are, so maybe he is.

What I love about Zayn is his mysterious glances, his shy-type character, and fierce attitude. Plus the fact that he can really sing R&B well. I think he has the most star-appeal in the group.
